Draft:Portland Adventist Sanitarium

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I was born here. My brother and cousins were born here. My father and uncle worked here. My grandmother died here. My mother had her tonsils out here. And always during all those times it was named Portland Sanitarium and Hospital. It changed names in 1969 to Portland Adventist Hospital. Later when it moved to the new building, for a time I believe it was Portland Adventist Medical Center. Perhaps it was Portland Adventist Sanitarium at some early point, but I am skeptical.

Per a Church Paper Article (Gleaner) Nov 11, 1968, Portland Adventist Hospital, Voted New Name "Portland Adventist Hospital was voted the new name of Portland Sanitarium and Hospital at a special constituency meeting held September 15 at Portland Union Academy. The new name is effective January 1,1969"
