Draft:Muhammad Mustafa Khan Tikka

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Tikka Muhammad Mustafa Khan (Urdu/Punjabi: ٹِکّا محمد مصطفیٰ خاں; born 19 March 1999) is a Pakistani academic,[1] policy analyst, and public policy expert.[2] He is the youngest grandson of the Tikka Muhammad Khan [d.1961] and belongs to the prominent political Tikka Family, [3][4]. Hailing from a family with a longstanding tradition of public service, Mustafa's professional and academic endeavors are deeply influenced by his heritage.[5] Tikka holds a Bachelor’s of Arts with Honors (B.A.H) in International Relations and Affairs from Stanford University[6] and a Master’s degree in Education Policy and Analysis from Harvard University.

Early Life and Education:

Muhammad Mustafa was born in March 1999 in Pakpattan, Pakistan, and completed his primary and secondary education in Lahore. He enrolled at Stanford University in September 2018 and graduated in his junior year in 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts with Honors,[7] majoring in International Relations and Affairs, specializing in International Comparative Governance (CIG) and International History and Culture (IHC).[8] He also pursued minors in History, Political Science—with a concentration in Political Economy and Development—and Global Studies focusing on the Middle East[9] [10]. Mustafa’s honors thesis was titled “Dividing the Indivisible: A Study of the Views of the People of Azad Kashmir”[11] which studied and analyzed the longstanding dispute over Kashmir between India and Pakistan[12] [13]. He was also selected under the Public Service Scholars Program (PSSP) at the HAAS Center of Public Service at Stanford University. While at Stanford, Mustafa was actively involved in various student organizations like the The Stanford Daily, Stanford In Government (SIG), and Stanford South Asia Society.[14] Perhaps motivated by the educational challenges faced by children in Pakistan and various forms of disparities in parts of the world, Mustafa enrolled in the Ed.M. program in Education Policy and Analysis at Harvard University in 2022 to develop the necessary skills to address these issues. His academic journey included courses in business, politics, and technology at Harvard Business School, Harvard Kennedy School, and MIT Sloan School of Management.[15] [16]

At Harvard, Mustafa was involved in leadership roles including being a nominated representative of the Student Advisory Board for his EPA cohort, Chair of Finance at the Harvard (GSE) Student Council, and the Co-President of the Harvard (GSE) Politics and Economics Association,[17] [18]. His contributions were recognized during the HGSE Convocation on May 25, 2023, where the Student Council received accolades from the Dean of Havard Graduation School of Education for their exceptional performance.[19]

Family Tree and Background:

Mustafa comes from a family with a long tradition of public service. His interest in education and public service is influenced by his family background. His father, Tikka Muhammad Mukhtar Khan, served as a police officer[20], [21], [22], famous for his vigilance and sense of duty.[23] His grandfather, Tikka Muhammad Khan, an influential figure of Hoshiarpur, India migrated to Pakistan during the 1947 partition.[24] [25] Mustafa is a descendant of Maharana Sangram Singh.
