Amikar Dayal (born 31 January 1967) is a former captain of the Under -19 Indian Cricket team. He was a left-hand batsman[5] and a right-arm bowler[6][circular reference] and all-rounder. Amikar Dayal captained India Youth Cricket Team, India Under-19, and Under-22 from 1984-1987, in Test and One Day matches[7]. He played the Ranji Trophy[8][circular reference] for Bihar[9][circular reference] and Tripura[10][circular reference] from 1985-1998 (Record holder for Ranji Trophy Opening Partnership). Dayal runs the oldest Cricket Academy in Bihar, named the Cricket Academy of Bihar[11] and the Amikar Dayal Center from Cricket Excellence[12] at his alma mater St. Xavier's School[13], Patna.

Dayal played in England as a ‘professional overseas cricketer’ in the premier English county league from 1984 to 1995. He is a Technical Advising Panel member for the development of Nalanda International Cricket Stadium[14][circular reference] along with the Principal Secretary, Govt, of Bihar.

First class career[edit]

Dayal started his First-class cricket career for the Bihar cricket team[15][circular reference], Bihar[16][circular reference] in 1982–83 at the age of 12, during his school days at St. Xavier's High School, Patna. His career-best score was 174 against the West Bengal cricket team[17][circular reference], West Bengal[18][circular reference] in the 1986 Ranji Trophy. His career spans in domestic cricket from 1982-1998.

Involvement in cricket associations[edit]

Dayal was a member of the Ad hoc Committee for the running of Cricket in Bihar for the Bihar Cricket Association[19] in 2010. He remained the ICA representative[20] in the Bihar Cricket Association till 2022[21].

Founder Chairman of Cricket Academy of Bihar[edit]

Dayal founded the Cricket Academy of Biharin the south-eastern outer ground of Moin-ul Haq Stadium[23][circular reference] in Patna in 2000.

Dayal is also the brand ambassador[24] for Patna Municipal Corporation's[25] Swachh Survekshan[26] cleanliness drive.
