Aref Jalayeri (16 Jun,1990) (Persian: عارف جلایری) is an Iranian musician, composer,[1] Aref Jalayeri, born on June 16, 1990, in Mashhad, Iran, began exploring music and photography in his childhood, supported by his parents and tutored by his father, a master photographer. He was drawn to the Dotar, a traditional instrument that became central to his artistic identity. Aref is a folklore musician, vocalist, and plays both the Dotar and piano. His work blends traditional Persian and Kurdish melodies with contemporary styles, creating innovative folklore-pop music. He aims to tell stories through his music, connecting the past with the present and integrating Eastern and Western musical traditions. Aref's recent projects focus on leading and arranging in Persian folklore-pop, aiming to honor tradition while embracing modern interpretations.[2] [3] [4] [5]

Career[edit]

Aref Jalayeri has been engaged in various activities in the field of art for many years. After gaining various experiences and backgrounds in music, he started composing and arranging folkloric pieces. He was a musician and arranger in various music groups. Today (2024) he is present in the Ghasdek Orchestra and they hold a concert tour with this group.
