Deal or No Deal Island Promotional Poster[edit]
Description: This image was released by NBC for promotion of the American Television Program Deal or No Deal Island and depicts Joe Manganiello in a tropical setting holding a silver case emblazoned with the Deal or No Deal Island logo.
Description |
This is a poster for the episode "Deal or No Deal Island" from the TV series Deal or No Deal Island. |
---|---|
Source |
The poster art can or could be obtained from NBC Universal. |
Article | |
Portion used |
The entire poster to properly convey the meaning and branding intended, and avoid tarnishing or misrepresenting the image. |
Low resolution? |
The copy is of sufficient resolution for commentary and identification but lower resolution than the original poster. Copies made from it will be of inferior quality, unsuitable as counterfeit artwork, pirate versions or for uses that would compete with the commercial purpose of the original artwork. |
Purpose of use |
Main infobox. The image is used for identification in the context of critical commentary of the work, product or service for which it serves as poster art. It makes a significant contribution to the user's understanding of the article, which could not practically be conveyed by words alone. The image is placed in the infobox at the top of the article discussing the work, to show the primary visual image associated with the work, and to help the user quickly identify the work, product or service and know they have found what they are looking for. Use for this purpose does not compete with the purposes of the original artwork, namely the creator providing graphic design services, and in turn the marketing of the promoted item. |
Replaceable? |
As television series poster art, the image is not replaceable by free content; any other image that shows the same artwork or poster would also be copyrighted, and any version that is not true to the original would be inadequate for identification or commentary. |
Other information |
Use of the poster art in the article complies with Wikipedia non-free content policy and fair use under United States copyright law as described above. |

- hmm... I'd like input from someone else as to whether this meets non-free content criterion eight (contextual significance). Snowmanonahoe (talk · contribs · typos) 20:57, 19 April 2024 (UTC)
- @Snowmanonahoe: Yes it does - it will be used on the infobox of the article for visual identification. This is long established to be a sufficient justification for NFCC 8. —Matrix(!) {user - talk? -

Nath (TV series). jpg[edit]
Description:
Description |
This is a logo, title-card, or title-screen owned by Dangal TV for Nath (TV series). |
---|---|
Source | |
Article | |
Portion used |
The entire logo, card or screen is used to convey the meaning intended and avoid tarnishing or misrepresenting the intended image. |
Low resolution? |
The media is of a size and resolution sufficient to maintain the quality intended by the company or organization which owns it, without being unnecessarily high resolution. |
Purpose of use |
The image is placed in the infobox at the top of the article discussing Nath (TV series), a subject of public interest. The significance of the media is to help the reader identify the subject in question, assure the readers that they have reached the right article containing critical commentary about the same, and illustrate the intended branding message in a way that words alone could not convey. |
Replaceable? |
Because title cards or screens contain unique (and typically protected) creative expression, there is almost certainly no free equivalent. Any substitute that is not a derivative work would fail to convey the meaning intended, would tarnish or misrepresent its image, or would fail its purpose of identification or commentary. |
Other information |
Use of this media in the article complies with Wikipedia non-free content policy, logo guidelines, and fair use under United States copyright law as described above. |

- Comment: Can you show some examples of this seal being used? This page tells me we should use the word mark. You therefore need a very strong case for the importance of this seal for it to pass non-free content criterion one (no free equivalent). Snowmanonahoe (talk · contribs · typos) 03:03, 4 May 2024 (UTC)
- Hi, and thanks for helping!
- Here are some examples of its use to represent the university:
- Carved into front of campus library building (photograph from university archivist)
- Embossed on diplomas
- Another diploma example
- Use in a commencement pgoram
- Variant used at front gate of campus
- Hope that helps provide context that this logo is commonly used to represent the university. Thanks again. Seluj99 (talk) 05:17, 10 May 2024 (UTC)

- Yep, it's the same company. You can see the new logo being used at the top of a memo (halfway down the page) in this news article about the company: https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/new-brunswick/nb-brunswick-news-weekly-offices-close-1.5584411
