This map appears to have the wrong boundary between Ohio and the Michigan Territory. Michigan Territory was granted the Toledo Strip by the Northwest Ordinance. Ohio claimed it, but Congress declined to address the issue in granting statehood to Ohio. The law that granted Michigan statehood required it to cede the strip, which meant acknowledging that the strip was Michigan's to cede. (Not that the Michiganders cared about that, at the time: they wanted the strip, not vindication of their former jurisdiction.) --50.133.131.206 (talk) 00:44, 23 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
