English: Nikolai Ivanovich Van (Van which is the Chinese surname Wang in Russian)

also known as Van In Zun was a Soviet Chinese OGPU-NKVD officer. He rose within the institution and by 1935 was a regiment leader. He eventually led the Chinese NKVD regiments during the Sov. Chinese Deportation of 1937-38. Van was arrested soon after the completion of the Chinese deportation. In July 1922, Van was invited to join the GPU under a RFE appellation, GPO DVK as a GPU border guard stationed

in Blagoveshchensk.
