Description
English: The German hospital ship Helgoland moored at Da Nang, Vietnam, on 23 January 1970. The liner Helgoland was chartered by the West German Red Cross in 1965 and converted into a hospital ship. As the German contribution to the Vietnam War, she stayed at Saigon from 3 October 1966 to 12 September 1967. She was them moved to Da Nang, where she was moored from 11 October 1967 to 31 December 1971, treating mainly civilian casualties of the war.
