Summary
| Description |
English: The foundation stone of the Monument of the Early Founders of Singapore in the grounds of The Fullerton Hotel Singapore. The idea for a monument was proposed in 1969 by Alumni International Singapore, and the foundation stone was laid on the waterfront across the road from Fullerton Building by the first President of Singapore, Yusof Ishak, on 18 January 1970. However, the monument was never built. The stone was moved to the grounds of the National Archives of Singapore in 2000, and then to its present location. |
