English: Dirham of the Umayyad caliph Hisham ibn 'Abd al-Malik, containing the following set of inscriptions:
Obverse center: لا إله إلا \ الله وحده \ لا شريك له "There is no god but God alone; He has no partner."
Obverse margin: بسم الله ضرب هذا الدرهم بواسط سنة إحدى عشرة ومائة "In the name of God, this dirham was struck in Wasit the year one hundred and eleven (729-730 AD)."
Reverse center: الله احد الله \ الصمد لم يلد و \ لم يولد ولم يكن \ له كفواً أحد "God the One, God the Eternal. He neither begets nor is begotten, nor is there to Him any equivalent (Surat al-Ikhlas)."
Reverse margin: محمد رسول الله أرسله بالهدى ودين الحق ليظهره على الدين كله ولو كره المشركون "Muhammad is the Messenger of God. He sent him with guidance and the true religion to proclaim it over all other religions, even if the polytheists dislike it (Qur'an 9:33)."
