English: San Francisco's Chinese population dates back all the way to the 1840s Gold Rush. The Chinese have been an integral part of San Francisco's social fabric ever since, despite severe backlash from the rest of the society that persisted well into the 1960s.
This building houses the Chinese Elementary and Middle Schools. Located on Stockton Street across the street from Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, which is run by the Republic of China (Taiwan), this building also displays the Republic of China flag as well.
